Why do I need a licensed attorney to prepare my QDRO?

It is always a good idea to have a licensed attorney prepare court documents, because attorneys have a better understanding of the subtleties, meanings and repercussions of legal phrasing in court orders. Often a QDRO preparer is faced with several choices as to how to word a QDRO, and the different choices can lead to different interpretations of the QDRO. If questions arise during the drafting process, Attorney Ehrmann will contact the parties for clarification.
